Why Choose Solaris Nova?
Solaris Nova offers writers the chance to be published by one of the UK’s leading independent SFF publishers.
What We’re Looking For
A new imprint of genre publisher Solaris, our authors are bestsellers, prize winners and fan favourites. At Solaris, we curate a strong and diverse list, never publishing too much so we are able to give our titles the time and attention they deserve. Because we are independent, we offer a bespoke and boutique service to our authors, and we look forward to welcoming a new raft of digital-first authors to the Solaris family.
As a Solaris Nova author, you will receive full editorial support from a dedicated editor to help you revise your manuscript and be your guide to the ups and downs of the publishing process.
Bespoke Campaign
Each book will receive an individual, digital-focused marketing campaign with guaranteed promotional budget. Every Solaris Nova book will be listed on Netgalley, sent to appropriate reviewers, and receive tailored advertising campaigns. We will get your book into the right hands and shout about it to thousands of SFF readers.
Custom Cover Artworks
Along with our editorial and marketing services, each book will get a beautiful cover designed by our art department. We will work closely with you every step of the way to ensure the cover stands out, is commercial, and reaches the right market.
Global Distribution
We offer global distribution, listing and placement in all major online retailers, and with our print on demand program, your book will be available for bricks and mortar bookshops to order.
High Royalty Rates
Lastly, the numbers. We offer authors a 50% of net revenue royalty on every eBook sold, and a 20% of net revenue royalty of every print on demand book sold. We don’t offer an advance so are able to offer much higher royalties than we otherwise would. And in case you were wondering, Solaris Nova will never charge authors for any part of the book creation or publishing process.
Above all, we at Solaris Nova love great books and we want to read yours.
