Meeting Infinity starts 2016 right
8th January 2016
Meeting Infinity, the latest Jonathan Strahan-edited Solaris anthology, is kicking off the new year in style as a number of stories contained within it’s pages have been picked for several year’s best collections.
Considering most of us haven’t blown the cobwebs out from Christmas yet, we think this is pretty impressive. We’re delighted that the likes of Yoon Ha Lee – whose eagerly anticipated debut Ninefox Gambit is coming from Solaris in June – are getting the props they deserve. Talented writers abound in these parts!
The stories that have been snapped up so far are:
- “The Cold Inequalities”, Yoon Ha Lee
- “In Blue Lily’s Wake”, Aliette de Bodard
- “Cocoons”, Nancy Kress
- “Rates of Change”, James S.A. Corey
- “Emergence”, Gwyneth Jones
- “The Falls”, Ian McDonald
- “Drones”, Simon Ings
- “Outside”, An Owomoyela
So, what are these anthologies that are so keen to get hold of these stories? Well, it’s a pretty impressive selection:
- Gardner Dozois’s The Year’s Best Science Fiction: 32nd Annual Collection
- Neil Clarke’s The Best Science Fiction of the Year: Volume 1
- Rich Horton’s The Year’s Best Science Fiction and Fantasy
- Jonathan Strahan’s The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year
Not a bad start to 2016 if you ask us!
Meeting Infinity is out now!
