EXPLORING THE WORLD OF MARY SHELLY’S FRANKENSTEIN!

Abaddon Books, Rebellions Publishing’s cutting-edge imprint for smart and subversive fiction, is thrilled to announce Creatures: The Legacy of Frankenstein a spine-tingling new anthology, edited by David Thomas Moore.

Creatures offers up bold re-imaginings of literature’s greatest monster from among the finest talents in fiction and includes the spell-binding work of Emma Newman, Tade Thompson, Paul Meloy, Kaaron Warren and Rose Biggin.

Contributing author, Tade Thompson had this to say about the anthology:

“It’s Frankenstein. It’s Gothic horror and science fiction and Mary Shelley, a literary sandbox that no writer of fantastical fiction can or should resist.
“It’s Frankenstein. It’s leaden with centuries of history, meta-myth, critical analysis, hundreds of adaptations and re-imaginings. The real horror is a sense of unworthiness in the face of this enduring classic.
“It’s Frankenstein. Come see what tales we’ve woven.”

Editor, David Thomas Moore added:

“Brian Aldiss once said, with a certain amount of justification, that Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is the first modern science fiction; it’s a huge honour to be commemorating her vision, exactly two hundred years on, and I can’t think of five better people to do it with.
“Tade, Emma, Paul, Kaaron and Rose have given us beautiful, intelligent, complex stories of humans and the monsters we create and become.”
