ABADDON TO PUBLISH NEW NOVEL IN THE GODS & MONSTERS SERIES FROM CASSANDRA KHAW
21st July 2017
Abaddon is thrilled to announce the acquisition of a new novel in the Gods & Monsters universe that will bring together all four characters from previous installments in one gloriously original story, set to come out in 2018.
The Gods & Monsters series has seen writers such as Chuck Wendig, Stephen Blackmoore, Hilary Monahan, and Pat Kelleher at the helm of these pulpy, horror-filled, engagingly gory stories.
Now, the hugely talented Cassandra Khaw – author of Food of the Gods – takes on the challenge of bringing all of these strands together for the first time.
Abaddon’s Editor-in-Chief, David Moore commented:
“Gods & Monsters is an amazing series – dark, punky, magical, and obnoxious – with some incredible authors; and Cass’s Food of the Gods, as delicious as it is grotesque, is its greatest success story. That she’s agreed to revisit the world, and to stitch Case’s, Louie’s, Tanis’s and Rupert’s stories together, is more than I could have hoped for. I’m utterly thrilled.”
Cassandra Khaw said:
“This began as a slightly drunken joke many months ago, with Dave musing if there was ever going to be a way to make all the protagonists of the Gods & Monsters series come together. Which is, well, hard, given their respective disposition and geographical placements.
“But I had an idea. A wild, ridiculous idea that ended with Dave raising his eyebrows and going, ‘This might work.’ Many months later, we’re here, and I’m already plotting out the route everyone’s going to take.
“This is an adventure that will cross Malaysia to Florida, Vegas to Heaven. There’ll be food. There’ll be death. There’ll be at least one case of dog-petting. It’d be like one of those jokes you hear all the time, ‘What do you do when Rupert, a prophet, a lamia, and a son of the devil walk into the room?’…”
We’re excited to see Khaw’s creative genius in perfect and awe-inspiring display in this new novel and we cannot wait to have this in our hands, and to share it with our readers.
