Announcing The Grief of Stones by Katherine Addison!

We’re so excited to be publishing The Grief of Stones by Katherine Addison for the UK!

In this sequel to the much-loved The Witness for the Dead, Thara Celehar’s work sees him take on an apprentice and investigate a scandal that has a school of foundling girls, some of Amalo’s most vulnerable citizens, at its centre.

We’re delighted to share the cover with you today, designed by James Jones:

Celehar’s life as the Witness for the Dead of Amalo grows less isolated as his circle of friends grows larger. He has been given an apprentice to teach, and he has stumbled over a scandal of the city—the foundling girls. Orphans with no family to claim them and no funds to buy an apprenticeship. Foundling boys go to the Prelacies; foundling girls are sold into service, or worse.

At once touching and shattering, Celehar’s witnessing for one of these girls will lead him into the depths of his own losses.

The love of his friends will lead him out again.

The Grief of Stones will be out in paperback, eBook and audiobook on 23 June 2022.

OUT NOW: The Witness For The Dead by Katherine Addison (UK)!

We’re incredibly excited that The Witness For The Dead by Katherine Addison is out now in the UK!

This brilliant, unique book is the follow up to the bestselling and award-winning first book in the series – The Goblin Emperor, and we’re so excited to take readers back into that world.

Murder, politics and intrigue.

When the young half-goblin emperor Maia sought to learn who had set the bombs that killed his father and half-brothers, he turned to an obscure resident of his Court, a Prelate of Ulis and a Witness for the Dead.

Thara Celehar found the truth, though it did him no good to discover it. Now he lives in the City of Amalo, far from the Court though not exactly in exile. He has not escaped from politics, but his position gives him the ability to serve the common people of the city, which is his preference.

He lives modestly, but his decency and fundamental honestly will not permit him to live quietly.

“Impressively elaborate worldbuilding underpins this lovely fantasy novel, but I couldn’t put it down because of the heart-grippingly sympathetic main character.” ― Kate Elliott, bestselling author of the Crossroads series

“Challenging, invigorating, and unique. If courtly intrigue is your wine of choice, The Goblin Emperor is the headiest vintage I’ve come across in years.” ― Scott Lynch, bestselling author of The Lies of Locke Lamora
